Description
The room isThe house has total usable space of approx. 110 m², with a large living room and modern open kitchen of 44 m², two separate toilets of which one has a bathtub, a 2-person sauna, and a washing machine.
By the way, the beautiful garden is full of fruit (fig, apricot, mirabel, apple, peer,...) trees. Be ready for the marmalade season :)! There is enough space for a vegetable patch and we plan to build a small greenhouse. The house is located in Ostring in the quiet neighbourhood of Nünenenweg (Genossenschaft). Facilities like supermarkets, restaurants are close and it takes only 13 minutes by bike to bahnhof and 20 minutes by public transport.
You will have the choice between two rooms.
One room is in the attic, although large has slanted roofs. The room is bright thanks to the two windows on the roof. The downside is, the only space in the room that you can stand tall is the middle part.
The second room is in the basement. Its is remains cool throughout the summer and warm in the winter. It does have a half window that brings light to the room. The downside is the central heater which is slightly noisy.
As we are only starting the WG, you will also be able to design the space and set the principles of living together with us. We highly value and want to promote diversity. We are international (languages: English, German, French, and Malayalam) and LGBTQA + friendly.
Both room cost 700 plus utilities (around 130 per month).

We are looking for
We both have gained experience across years of living in different countries and communities, so we have a pretty clear vision of living together :) We are looking for a person who shares a similar community-oriented vision and enjoys a collective way of living. Someone who enjoys sharing food and quality time with us (we are obviously not a Zweck-WG), respects boundaries of others and has an open/honest communication style. We would like to maintain a certain cleanliness for the shared spaces and expect initiatives in organising and sharing tasks required to maintain the house and garden.
We are
You have a wonderful opportunity to co-found a WG in a house from 1st of July (or 15.06) with Alex and Charlotte (two animal welfare scientists) and two furry balls of joy Frisi and Wasi (miau). Alex (31 M) likes to cook without recipes, loves Lao gan ma chilli peanut sauce, is a bit active in Bern nightlife activities, spends a lot of waking hours listening to music (lot of NTS radio). Charlotte (37) is always happy to share food (crepes and quiches: her specialty), joy, music and life experiences with friends, extroverted according to others, enjoys contemplating but also working in the garden.
